Position Summary
Join our dynamic ERP Systems team as a Business Systems Analyst, to play a crucial role in supporting SDSU's PeopleSoft Campus Solutions student information system, known as "my.SDSU." Under the direct supervision of the Director of ERP Functional Support and Analysis, and in close collaboration with the College of Graduate Studies (CGS), the Business Systems Analyst provides specialized technical analysis and support, primarily focusing on the Student Records module.
Duties and Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
Work closely with CGS and other campus units to ensure effective communication, needs assessment, and solution implementation.
Support the College of Graduate Studies in meeting their operational requirements.
Assist in module configuration, maintenance, and technical needs analysis.
Aid in data analysis, query execution, and automation setup for file processing.
Triage, troubleshoot, and assist to resolve technical issues within the my.SDSU system and related systems.
Provide additional support for local reporting needs and user assistance.
Partner with various campus units to identify and address technical needs.
Aid in the implementation of new technical enhancements and ensure timely issue resolution.
Manage and validate data, ensuring accuracy and reliability.

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
This position is eligible for partial telecommuting with onsite work in San Diego.

The ERP Systems unit within the Information Technology Division leads and supports critical enterprise-level transactional systems for the university. These systems include my.SDSU (PeopleSoft) Campus Solutions, PeopleSoft HCM, Oracle E-Business Suite for financials, Hyland OnBase Imaging and Workflow, and other related systems. Our team of technology professionals handles database administration, analysis and development, application system administration, and application security.
The College of Graduate Studies (CGS) provides leadership, advocacy, financial support, and coordination for all graduate and post-baccalaureate education at San Diego State University, including the university's 90 masters and 23 doctoral programs. Core office functions include degree evaluation and conferral, student services, implementation of policy of Graduate Council, CSU, and California Ed. Code Title V, and administration of graduate student funding.

Education and Experience
To enter this classification, a basic foundation of knowledge and skills in applications programming and systems analysis and related programming support functions is a prerequisite. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science or business, or equivalent training and applied experience. Foundation knowledge and skills for the Analyst/Programmer, depending on the position assignment, may include working knowledge of a specific industry standard applications programming language and knowledge of standard systems analysis techniques.

Key Qualifications
Bachelor's degree OR four years of professional, relevant working experience is required.
1+ years of technical business and system analysis work
Experience supporting ERP applications and providing deliverables preferably in higher education or other regulated industries.
General knowledge of user support and the development of workflows and key progress indicators of efficiency of support.
General knowledge of PeopleSoft CMS or related ERP systems used in Higher Education.
General knowledge of PSQuery or other technical database languages used to create queries to pull data from an enterprise system into formats useful for technical team.
General knowledge of higher education enrollment business processes, procedures, and systems

Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $5,834 per month.
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,899 - $7,506 per month.
