The Department of Accounting at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2024 to teach ACCT 203: Introduction to Accounting for Managers. The Department of Accounting delivers classes in-person on the San Marcos campus.
Course Description
Introduces accounting information used by managers in business decision-making. Financial accounting modules introduce how firms use financial statements to communicate financial conditions and results of operations to their stakeholders. Managerial accounting modules address how accountants produce managerial accounting information for internal decision-making. Also includes environment of financial reporting, internal control systems, analysis of financial statements, alternatives to financial reporting, introduction to tax accounting, and introduction to accounting for not-for-profit and government organizations.
Minimum qualifications
A bachelor's degree in Business
Current U.S. CPA License or U.S. CMA License
Extensive work experience in the area of accounting.

Preferred qualifications
Masters in Accounting or Taxation, or a Masters in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting from a regionally accredited university.
Experience teaching at a four-year university and/or community college.
Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:$5,007 - $6,359 per full-time month
CSU Classification Salary Range:$5,007 - $6,359 per full-time month
