Programme Officer Social Protection
Guatemala City
We are seeking to hire a Programme Officer Social Protection - fulltime who can contribute to an in-depth understanding and mapping of formal and informal social protection, identify the gaps, assess how these could be made more accessible and responsive to persons with disabilities, and then support with advising and helping us and our partners shape and implement our disability inclusive social protection engagement and related areas in Central America.
Qualifications and experience:
·Graduate degree (preferably Masters) in social sciences, international development, humanitarian studies, social policy or related field.
·Professional experience of two to four years working in national or international NGOs or other organisations, including government, with a track record of work in programmes (ideally development) with a focus on an area related to social protection and/or inclusion and disabilities
·Experience in developing and managing projects, ideally in an area related to social protection (e.g. community development).
·Demonstrated proficiency in proposal writing in English for donors such as USAID and the EU, employing relevant formats, log frames, and Smart indicators.
·Knowledge of social protection schemes (mainstream or disability- specific) in Central America
·Experience in results-based management and all phases of project cycle management
·Experience in managing internal and external relationships, including for advocacy purposes.
·Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills and teamwork.
·Experience in developing and managing institutionally funded projects (USAID and EU mandatory) advantageous.
a. Proven experience in grant managing systems advantageous.
b. Experience in working with marginalized communities and/or organizations of people with disabilities.
c. Spanish (compulsory) / English (professional proficiency, strong written and conversational skills)
d. Proficient in MS Office
e. Identification with the values and mandate of CBM.
