The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Spring 2025 to lecture CHEM 491-7: Drug Discovery in Tropical Diseases.
Course description:
This course will introduce the concepts of modern drug discovery and how they have been applied to develop medicines to treat tropical diseases. The phases of drug discovery, lead identification, structure activity relationships, and late lead optimization will be discussed.
Minimum qualifications:
A Master of Science in Chemistry
Experience teaching chemistry at the college level
Per the California State University's Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.

Preferred qualifications:
A Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry
Experience teaching a course in analytical chemistry or instrumental analysis.
Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.

Salary commensurate with degree level and experience:
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $6,008 per full-time month
CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per full-time month
